I love city life. It make me feel like I'm not alone. I'm not the only one who standing here. I like watching people rush to get into subway. Perth city is another big city. Many offices, many parking lots, many people, many restaurants, many cars, many shops just like another cities in the world. I visited the city more than once and that include Western Australia day. I took the train to Perth underground station which the exist will be Murray street. When I finally saw what is WA's capital city looks like, I couldn't shut my jaw. Not because of the skyscrapers but the discount sign on every single shops! For example Topshop, the pricey and fancy brand from the UK put up 70% off sign in front of the shop and then the next 3 weeks they put up 30% further discount from discount items. This situation is not good for my wallet what so ever! Local brand like Cotton On also advertise about their discount, but only 50% off.

Shops

From this point, you guys probably know I am shopaholic. That's right lol. I live with pure passion. Anyway, I walked in shop by shop. Along the street, there are some cafe to relax and rest your feet. I found the cafe called Croissant Express. I like croissants so I ordered one. The taste was good, full of butter, soft and crunchy. You might find some stalls on special day e.g. someday they had an event that locals can sell their products; soaps, fruits, jewellery. I kept walking and walking, trust me, all of the sale sign were haunting me. I can spend my money on clothes but I didn't because I wanna control my shopping issue. I wanna be a good girl. Not too long, I found London Court. It's not a real court, don't worry. Located between Hay st Mall and St Georges Terrace. It built in 1937 by Claude de Bernales and now London Court has become a Perth landmark featuring neatly preserved, Tudor style architecture.

London Court

The photo up there is London Court on Hay Street Mall entrance. The clock is a replica of the “Great Clock” at Rouen in France plus it still work! The clock chimes every 15 minutes. Above the clock four knights, known as the “Tournament of Armoured Knights”, circle in the window when the clock chimes. There is a clock that replicate Big Ben as well, just located at St Georges Terrace entrance. So what actually inside this court? Shops, of course. After I'm done with London Court, I checked on another stuff. There are some street performance such as singers, dancer. I saw a band called Honeywell that I found very interesting. They are sibling from Canada. I think they travel around the world to do street performance. They wrote their own songs. They have Youtube channel and an album as well. These people can gain so much attention from locals and tourists, including me.

I noticed that there are some church around the city. I'm not sure about the sect. Some of them could be Catholic church. Some of them could be Orthodox. Still, They all are beautiful. You won't see church like those in Europe. It could be because Australia consider new country while Europe is way older than Australia. That's why the design and detail are different from both places. The church I really want everyone to see is St Mary's Cathedral. It's not far from the center at all. Located at the peak of a hill in East Perth, at the centre of Victoria Square. This church near The Perth Mint, another tourist attraction in Perth. From what I read from Hello Perth brochure, This mint is one of the world's oldest mints still operating from its original premises, and one of WA's historic landmarks. I didn't get in because I didn't have enough time but I took some photos at the entrance!

The Perth Mint

Perth city will not complete without Elizabeth Quay. Just on January 29, 2016 the new Elizabeth Quay was officially opened. The city view is very fantastic. All of those skyscrapers and their reflection in the water. I'm not surprise why I see many people visit this place all the time. Apart from those tall building, you can see an icon of Perth and WA, Bell Tower, from the quay. The Bell Tower includes the 12 bells of Sr Matin-in-the-fields, the famous church in London. Outside of the tower, You will see "Love Locks" which is the mimicking of Pont des Art in Paris. Basically, you purchase a Love Lock, put your name and your date on it and then lock it on the string. The legend says that it symbolised their love was locked together and would last forever. It totally up to you to believe this stuff but from what I saw, the string is almost full.

Love Locks

Do you remember the ending scene in Notting Hill? When Anna and Will sit on the garden bench, where Will reads to pregnant Anna. That bench is in Queens Garden, Perth! When I first saw the film, I thought everything is in The UK, turns out, this bench is isolated from limeyland. It wasn't hard to find the bench. When I found it, a young man was sitting on it. I truly wanted him to move to another bench but I'm not a mean girl. I patiently wait, not too long, he left. The bench is inscribed "To June who loved this garden from Joseph who always sat beside her". You probably saw in the film. I sat on it then took my time to look around the garden. Have to say this place is such a good escape from the city. You can hear the corellas singing or you might see black swan. It's just nice to have this good oxygen in my lung.

Let's take about WA Day. In 2016, WA Day was on June 6th, which is my birthday! The event was located at Elizabeth Quay. When I stepped into the event, I felt like I was the only foreigner there. There are so many white people! I'm not racist but I've never seen many white people together like this before. I headed to the concert tent, a band was performing. From what I saw on the internet, many singers or bands joined WA Day, mostly Australian bands. I can say their songs are pretty good. I saw people make a lil move. Some danced like they never dance before. Some just nodding with the rhythm. hen this band finished, another band took place. I was fast enough to take a photo with the first band before they leave. Outside of the concert, there are several shops to get some nosh. I wanted to get a gelato nit it haven't opened yet. I wonder why they out it in the map. I heard people complain about it as well.

Concert

Overall I like Perth city. I always went back to my accommodation with happiness and, of course, hand full of shopping bags. Perth city never sleep and Perth city will put a smile on your face, just like it did to me :D
