"Who doesn't like zoo?" that is the first thing I asked myself when I decided to go to Perth zoo. Every time I travel to new countries or cities, I always go to their zoos. From Rockingham, I drove 45 minutes to the zoo. When I arrived, I have to pay for a parking spot, just like any other WA parking areas. To entry to the zoo, admission cost does apply. For 21-year-old pretty girl like me, I paid 29AUD as an adult price. I was soooooo excited when I first step into the zoo. The first animal I saw is Little Penguins. YES! that is their official name! Here is the cutest photos of them.

Little Penguins has 37-43 cm of their body length, so this penguin breed is the smallest of all penguins. Moreover it is the only species to live permanently in Australian waters. Little Penguins have a grey face, dark blue back, and white chest and abdomen. Their feet are dull yellow and they have a black bill. I love this animal so much! isn't it the most lovely creature?! After I satisfied with the penguins, I moved on to next animal. From 10 yards away, I saw a red animal on the tree. I thought it was a red panda but I was wrong. It is a Goodfellow’s tree Kangaroo. Yep! very fancy name. I wasn't sure how many of them on the trees but I saw just one. this animal located in Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, they are in endangered because of over hunting and habitat destruction.

As you can see in the photo, it has reddish-brown fur with golden fur on its limbs, face, underbelly and two stripes that run from its tail up its back. Tree kangaroo love climbing the trees, as you can tell by its name. Curious about how difference between ground kangaroos and tree kangaroos? Well, tree kangaroos can separate their hind feet, in contrast, ground kangaroos can't. However, both of them are omnivores which mean they feed on leaves, flowers, fruits and insects. Moving on to the next animal, this animal, in my opinion, it is very similar to hyaeanas. Can you guess? Alright, I will give you a hint. It hunts large prey such as wildebeest, zebra and impala like hyaenas. Tic tok, tic tok ,tic tok...
It is African Painted Dogs! It is totally okay, if you are not familiar with the name because me as well lol. The African Painted Dogs have varies in pattern and is a mixture of black, grey, yellow and white. They hid in the grass, when I visited them so I don't have good photos to show you. Sorry about that. From that, I started to get hungry. I went to "Wild Bites" which is the place you can get sandwiches, fish and chips (I called it "fried" but doesn't matter), burgers, hotdogs and nuggets. Besides, there is a large selection of drinks and ice creams to choose from. I am lactose intolerance so no ice cream for me.
Later, I visited my all time favourite animal "meerkats". I cannot explain how adorable they are when they stand on their hindlegs. They're just too cute.

The colour of meerkat is light silvery-brown colour with dark stripes on its back. Do you see a meerkat stand on the wood? This meerkat is a guardsman. It looks out for predators such as eagles or cobras while the rest are looking for food. It's time for the koalas! I couldn't left Australia without seeing Koala. As you know koalas have grey and white fur. They LOVE eucalyptus leaves. Unluckily, many years ago people hunt them for their fur. Now they are protected and habitat destruction and bushfires are their biggest threats. In some areas, koalas suffer from the disease chlamydia which is passed on usually through mating and affects the reproductive system and the eyes. Whereas, in some area, koalas are overpopulation and that count as a real threat because the areas of habitat are often not joined and they can eat out the food supply and starve.

During my time in Perth Zoo, I have seen their dinosaurs exhibition. don't worry, it's not real. If it is, I would freak out! With 15 kinds of dinosaurs, plus they all can move and make sound. The zoo will be spectacular again. Believe it or not, kids love dinosaurs. I thought the kids will scared to death by it but no. For instant, the kid on the photo told his dad to bring him higher just to get closer to that dinosaur. I bet he must be very happy :)
